About Me
My journey into mental health began with my own experience growing up within an ethnic minority community, where conversations around mental health were often overlooked, misunderstood, or not openly acknowledged. I saw first-hand how silence, stigma and cultural beliefs could stop people from recognising their own struggles, or reaching out for the help they truly needed — even when they were living with difficult thoughts, feelings or symptoms. It was this realisation that sparked my passion to help change that narrative.
Â
I believe every person deserves to feel heard, understood and empowered, regardless of their background. While I have a particular passion for supporting women and those from communities where mental health has traditionally been a difficult topic to discuss, my practice is open and inclusive. I work with people from all walks of life, cultures and circumstances, bringing sensitivity and respect to every individual I meet.
Â
Alongside my academic training, I have many years of experience working across various mental health services. Over this time, I have supported people from all kinds of backgrounds and life situations, and been exposed to a wide range of experiences, challenges and needs. I also have experience delivering evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), which allows me to draw on practical, effective tools tailored to what each person needs. This background has given me a deep understanding of just how differently mental health can affect us all — and it has taught me to meet each person exactly where they are, without assumptions or labels.
Â
My professional and academic background gives me a strong foundation to do this work: I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, followed by a Master’s in Forensic Mental Health, and I am currently completing my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling as a Trainee Therapist. Combined with my hands-on experience across different services and therapeutic models, I bring both knowledge and genuine empathy to every session.
Â
My approach is to create a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely, without fear of being judged or misunderstood. Whether you are looking for help with specific difficulties, working through life challenges, or simply wanting to understand yourself better, I am here to walk alongside you — helping you find clarity, build resilience, and move toward the life you want.
